We are a fragrance house specialised in custom scented candles. Our products create a unique atmosphere in your home, perfect for your mood, for a specific room, for the season or even for someone special. You can combine the fragrance notes that you love the most, which are then blended with all-natural wax and hand-poured into your preferred style holder with a personalised label. It is our aim to make everyday life more magical by bringing your creations to life.

“I started my career at a leading global perfume and cosmetics house. Over the years, the research and development for new home fragrance products brought me into countless homes around the world. To create bestselling products, I had to find the similarities in people’s desires. But the more people I met and the more homes I visited, the more I was inspired by their differences.

No two homes I’ve stepped into were the same. Many of us really pour our heart and soul into our homes. Keen to make our interior unique and reflective of our personalities and tastes, we fill it with carefully selected old and new furniture, ever-changing accessories and cherished pieces of art and memorabilia. Our home is a canvas and life is a treasure hunt!

As a creative person, this passion and drive for originality inspired me. I love how people’s artisticity and zest for life can make magic out of the everyday. It’s in the little things; a seasonal touch, a quirky item a smart contrast. The magic happens when a bit of effort and attention to detail come together with big imagination to please the senses.

I realized that I wanted to enable imaginative people to create everyday magic in their homes. To provide products that make their homes as unique as they are. And so Maison Frédériche was born.

We work hard to make your design experience fun and playful, our products luxurious and sophisticated and our service personal and pampering. French perfumer Sarah Grivot is our house ‘nose’. She has a Master degree in perfumery and was trained in Grasse, the perfume capital of the world. Her work was recognised with a ‘Nose’s Choice Award’ at The Scent of Excellence competition in Milan, the leading international event dedicated to artistic perfumery.

Sarah now specialises in scented candles and her expertise is the basis for our fragrance composer. This ensures that any scent combination you make is technically sound, so that you can simply enjoy creating. She has also shared her favourite ‘prêt-a-bruler’ scent combinations, for those who only want to customise the holder and label of their custom scented candle.

“Becoming a perfumer was always my calling. As a child my favourite pastime was to crush rose petals in water to try and create ‘eau de rose’. At age eight years old I made my first perfume for Mother’s day by mixing two scents I found in my mother’s bedroom, vanilla and berries. I finally decided to become a perfumer at twelve years old, everything fell into place when I read an article about perfumery.

I am passionate about creation and love formulating original fragrances. Art and nature are my main sources of inspiration. I enjoy to spend time meditating on a perfume creation and find that something special that will make it unique.

I use the finest raw materials, essential oils and absolutes. Jasmine is one of my favourite notes. Especially the smell of jasmine in the rain is very hypnotic. It is strongly tied to Grasse for me. I also love the fragrance of pomegranate. We had a pomegranate tree in the garden of the home I grew up in near Toulouse, The smell reminds me of eating the fruits as a child.

I work for Maison Frédériche because it values creativity and quality. It has been my aim to make you feel like I am with you while you design your custom scented candle. I sincerely hope that you enjoy the creative process as much as I always do.”
